HANS system: choosing the right size and angle
A Head and Neck Support (HANS) system is chosen based on two criteria. The size depends on your neck circumference: S for under 38 cm, M for 38 to 45.5 cm, and L for larger. The angle depends on your driving position: 10° for very upright (rally), 20° for upright (sedan, GT, rally), 25° for upright (young and female drivers), 30° for semi-reclined (single-seaters and prototypes), and 40° for reclined.
